As a homage to Grant Wood's "American Gothic", my roommates and I staged the depression era painting in front of a corn field on the island of Enemanit. We found it appropriate for Lee, John, and myself to be in the picture since we all hail from the Midwest (Ohio and Iowa), states known for their corn farming. While the pitchfork in the painting is now a tree branch, and the woman's dress is my fashionable guam, the picture is simply our modernized and Marshall-ized version of the classic. Enjoy!
